Why I built it
Our martial arts club wanted a round timer that could play Bluetooth music and pause it during rest periods. The pause marks each round clearly and gives the instructor a quiet moment to talk.
What was hard
Assembly. There are a lot of short wires between the board and the parts on the faceplate, so it took a lot of crimping and soldering connectors, and fitting the faceplate was difficult.
What I learnt
Design for assembly. If this ever had to be mass produced, the current wiring would make that impossible. Next time: fewer cables, fewer crimped connectors, and a faceplate that goes in easily.
